Valerie Millholland, M.A.
University Louisville
Adjunct Instructor

Valerie Milholland teaches art therapy and art education. She earned her BS in Art Therapy at the University of Evansville in 1994 and an MA at the University of Louisville.

One of the many internships Ms. Milholland completed in the University of Evansville art therapy program resulted in her first full-time position, developing and running the art program at The Evansville Psychiatric Children's Center. Over the next few years she led workshops and gave guest lectures for the department--at the Center. In 2002 she returned to UE to teach art therapy. Her classes include theory, art activities, and a unique element she views as vital: personal growth.

As a therapist and an educator, Ms. Milholland wants her students to learn more than theory; she wants them to gain a better understanding of themselves. This insight makes them better artists, better students, and ultimately better individuals after graduation.

Ms. Milholland is excited to have the opportunity to return to her roots and impact a new generation of art therapists.
