Stephanie Frasier is instructor of art and the coordinator of the Graphic Design Program at the University of Evansville. She earned her BS in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design from the University of Evansville in 1990 and a MFA in Graphic Design from Indiana State University in 2006.

While a student at the University of Evansville, Ms. Frasier interned at an agency that offered her a full-time position. Upon graduation, she worked her way through several advertising agencies up to the level of Senior Art Director and won numerous awards, including a prestigious Addy Certificate of Excellence, before returning to the University of Evansville in 2001 to teach. She brings with her to the classroom over 15 years of professional working experience from the field and freelance.

When Ms. Frasier works as a professional designer, she embraces the responsibility of communicating a message to an intended audience by utilizing design principles, graphic design applications, traditional media and research. She is involved in every aspect of the design process from initial concept, design, computer production, illustration, photography direction, image retouching and manipulation, through the final printing press proofing of the finished piece. Ms. Frasier draws upon this experience to teach her students how to solve visual communication challenges.

Ms. Frasier thinks it is important for students to understand what it takes to be a graphic designer. By using her professional work experience and graphic design knowledge and by getting students into real-life work environments through tours, job shadowing and internships, she can help them acquire the skills needed to reach their highest potential.

To stay in touch with this fast-paced field, Ms. Frasier remains very active professionally through her freelance design business.

As an artist, Ms. Frasier uses the computer to exercise her creativity by producing artwork to exhibit in various shows. She has a passion for design--all things graphically designed; logos, packaging, brochures, websites--a passion for paper and the role it plays with design. Her artistic work reflects these passions through subject matter, materials and techniques, and allows her an outlet for her creativity.
